Quick Setup

Connect Your Data

Click Connect in the Data Sources section to integrate with your current platform.
Kintsugi offers dozens of prebuilt integrations to various shopping carts, ERP’s, and more.
Have CSV files with historical transactions? Use our File Upload functionality to import them.

Configure Your Business

Specify jurisdictions where you have a physical presence:
  • Offices or warehouses
  • Remote employees
  • Inventory storage
  • Sales representatives
Don’t worry if you’re unsure - our system will help you identify nexus requirements based on your business activities.
Add your business information so we can register and file in the right jurisdictions:
  • Business name and address
  • Tax ID numbers
  • Business type and industry
  • Contact information
Provide bank details for tax remittance:
  • Bank account for tax payments
  • ACH information
  • Payment preferences
This information is encrypted and stored securely. We only use it for tax remittance purposes.

Set Up Products & Tax Rules

Approve your products so we can apply accurate tax rates:
Use our bulk approve functionality to approve all products at once.
Ensure all addresses are valid and complete:
  • Check the Tasks section for invalid addresses
  • Use Kintsugi Intelligence to automatically add missing addresses
  • Review and correct any flagged addresses

Review & Launch

Check your nexus exposure:
  • Navigate to the Nexus section
  • Review the exposure map on your dashboard
  • Understand your filing obligations
Our system continuously monitors your nexus status and alerts you to new requirements.
Set up tax exemptions:
  • Navigate to the Exemptions section
  • Configure customer exemptions
  • Set up product exemptions
  • Manage exemption certificates

Registration Management

Register in New Jurisdictions

Click Register on the Nexus page to register in jurisdictions where you have nexus.

Import Existing Registrations

If you’re already registered somewhere, import your existing registrations so we can generate filings for you.

File and Remit

Check your filings on the Filings page and click Approve to file and remit taxes in each jurisdiction.
